26 weeks...

Here are how many of my hot summer days are spent...

How Far Along - 26 weeks...still slowly passing by! ;)

Size of Babies: according to the app 15 in. and 2.2 lbs!
.
Weight Gain - Let's just say that with twins the whole trying to only gain minimum amount of weight is out the window! I'm glad I'm 5'10" because it "hides" the weight gain well. I think at least 10 lbs of it is in my "girls," sorry if too much info. Then the rest is all in my belly as of now...
.
Maternity Clothes - Continues to be a mix. I still have one pair of pants, and one pair of regular shorts I can button! Not for long!

Stretch Marks - No...I've warned Matt that I will cry for days when this happens. I lather on the lotion multiple times daily. I'm like a greased pig when I go to bed!
.
Best Moment of the WeekGoing to Fayetteville and getting to see Matt's family. Sitting in the pool!

Miss Anything - Not having a face that looks like a 13 year old going through puberty...oh hormones...

Cravings: Citrus! Usually orange juice makes me nauseated in the morning, but I've been craving it often. I also would give ANYTHING to be able to eat a sub sandwich from Firehouse, Subway, and Jimmy Johns...maybe it just sounds so good because I can't eat it.
.
Movements -Like crazy. Baby B rolls all the time. Baby A stabs me constantly ;) At times it makes me almost feel like I have motion sickness. It's still amazing to feel them and realize how amazing God is.
.
Gender - Two girls! Kate and Maddie.
.
Belly Button - Getting flatter...
.
Mood - Good! At times a wave of anxiety hits me thinking about raising 2 babies, but I try not to think about it too much! ;)
.
What I'm looking forward to: My nephew and sister will be here off and on this week! Also, I got Moms on Call in the mail and I'm looking forward to reading it!

Summer Recipe: Mangoes

I love mangoes and noticed at Kroger they have been 10 for $10. I've taken advantage of them being cheaper, since usually they are almost $3 each! Here are two of my favorite ways to use mangoes!

*You may have to watch a YouTube video on how to cute a mango! haha or here is a quick link:

Mango Salsa:

Sorry my picture isn't too pretty!
Ingredients:
2-4 ripe mangoes cubed
1/2-1 pepper (I've used red, green, and yellow) chopped
1/2 small purple onion chopped
1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced
3 T cilantro
2 T lime juice
1/2 t salt
1/4 t pepper
*I almost always add extra lime juice and salt*

Directions:
Stir together. Cover and chill for several hours.

Serve with chips, salmon, or fish tacos!

Asian Mango Slaw:

Ingredients:
2 cups shredded cabbage
*I use the bags of broccoli slaw mix. I like the taste of the broccoli better than
cabbage*
1/2 cup shredded carrots
1-2 mangoes, *not fully ripe*
3 T rice vinegar
1/2 lime juiced
1 T soy sauce *gluten free*
1 T sesame oil
1 t or more sesame seeds

Directions:
1. Whisk together the vinegar, soy sauce, and lime juice.
2. Mix slaw mix with mangoes in large bowl
3. Pour dressing mix over slaw
4. Let set in refrigerator for 20-30 minutes.
5. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve.

Serve with spicy shrimp, fish, or we even had it with steak on the 4th of July!

25 weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights:

 How Far Along: 25 weeks!

Size of Babies: 9 in., 2 lbs.

Size of Mom: I went to the doctor today for a check up. I'm measuring 30 weeks! ah! He said that is right where I should be...I don't even want to think about how big I will measure 10 weeks from now! ;)

Maternity Clothes: Some of both...but I totally underestimated how much I would grow when I bought some maternity shirts earlier in the summer. The belly is making some of them stick out already!

Gender: Two girls

Movement: Yes! At first to be honest the whole human being moving inside you thing creeped me out, but now I love it. One is sitting low on my left and the other is high on my right. It is to the point now I can watch my belly move...so amazing!

Sleep: Oh sleep...I miss you. Matt has been gone recently and when he isn't here I sleep worse. I try really hard to sleep on my left side, but at some point I have to take a break!

Symptoms: Feeling good except for occasional hip pain. I also had to stop running and even when walking I get a horrible side stitch?!?

What I miss: My old body...I really should have enjoyed that more! haha I know it will "all be worth it." Sometimes it is just hard!

Cravings: None really. Other than I LOVE peppers and olives now, both of which I used to hate!

Best Moment this week: Technically this was last week, but I had a great shower in Jonesboro. I'm always so amazed by people's generosity.

What I am looking forward to: Continuing to work on the nursery. Here is a picture of our progress so far. My favorite purchase was the ottoman from TJMaxx!

Finding a name...

Choosing your child's name is a lot of pressure! ;) One name is hard enough, much less coming up with two! We asked both sides of the family about names of their mother, their mother's mother, etc. Needless to say the Tippit and Adams families have southern country names in our heritage: Lila Jean, Juanita Coreen, Betty, Lucy Fern, and that's just the women...Not necessarily names that our girls would appreciate us giving them. So as much as we wanted some heritage in our girls names, the names weren't working with us! ;)

One "tradition" we did want to continue is the girls having 2 middle names. All three of Matt's sisters have 2 middle names: 1 typical middle name and 1 family last name. I wanted our girls to have the same, so that in some way they carry on part of the family.

Baby A is now:

Her full name will officially be Katherine Jane Marable Adams

1. Katherine has been a girl name choice from the beginning. She will be called "Kate." There isn't much significance other than my mom's name is Kathy and my middle name is Kathleen, so it has the "Kath" in it. haha.
2. We went back and forth on middle names, but finally landed on Jane. Yes, her name is as traditional English as it gets! ;)
3. Marable is my mother's maiden name. My maternal grandmother is still active at almost 91! She has played a significant part in my life and has been the lone grandparent for many years. My grandfather passed away when I was very young, but was a prisoner of war in Japan during WWII. They will both always be remembered through Katherine's name.

Baby B is now:

Her full name will officially be Madeline Grace Maricella Adams

1. I had the pleasure of teaching a sweet girl named Madeline (Maddie) for two years. I loved the name and she was a special student to me, so the name had good connotations!
2. Grace is used often, but it is such a great name! It goes with everything, and I pray it will always be a reminder to Maddie of God's grace towards her.
3. Maricella is Matt's maternal grandmother's maiden name. "Gram" as she was called was a huge influence in Matt's life. She was a faithful follower of the Lord and loved her grandchildren with all her heart.

Now we just have to wait a few more months to meet them! :)

Happy Anniversary!

3 years ago today I said, "I do" to the man I had prayed to God for (okay sometimes begged God for).

We said the vows...

Rang the church bells...

Even had some fireworks...

It was the best day of my life...

Okay now to get sappy...People married for years often say how much more they love their spouse as the years pass on. I never understood that until I was married. I love Matt more every day. He is patient, hard-working, faithful, makes me laugh, and never fails to tell me when I'm being ridiculous. I cannot wait to see him become a father and spend many more years together...

Love you and Happy 3rd Anniversary! :)
